September Schedule

Step into a new approach to movement - one that makes you feel like you're aging in reverse.

đŸ€” "Why does my body feel older than I am?"

You don't lack discipline. But if you’ve noticed:
1
Nagging pain that comes and goes.
2
Things that used to feel easy now take more effort.
3
You now avoid activities you once loved.
4
A struggle to maintain your top gear or break a plateau.
5
A quiet fear that "this is just how it goes."
It’s not just you. And it’s not just aging.

It’s your body asking for a better approach.

💡 What if every class made you younger on the inside?

Instead of bracing for decline, imagine:

  • Waking up and realizing your body feels lighter, steadier, more yours
  • Walking into your week with a nervous system that isn’t fried, but recharged
  • Building strength without burning out, so you carry groceries, kids, and your own weight with ease
  • Feeling tension dissolve as your body learns to work like it's supposed to
  • Not just avoiding surgery or healing injury - but claiming a body that ages in reverse

‍

đŸŒ± In Rouleau, every step reinforces the next.

Each class is a signal. Taken together, they become a system:

  • Exploration that breaks old habits (đŸ§Ș The Lab )
  • Restoration that rewires your calm (🌙 Integrate )
  • Structure that rebuilds your foundation (🌀 Spiral )
  • Quick resets that keep you sharp (⚡Express )
  • First steps that reconnect you to yourself (đŸ§± Foundations )
  • Dual practice that blends strength with care (⚖Strength & Restore )

‍

🔑 The truth:

You’re not broken. You’ve just been waiting for the right input.
And once your system begins to reorganize, you don’t just feel different in class -
you feel different in life.

Rouleau is where you come to play the Long Game:
A body that supports you.
A mind that trusts you.
A self that feels sovereign again.

👣 Every step you take here makes the next one stronger. And it starts the moment you walk through the door.

Class Descriptions

đŸ§Ș The Lab | Mondays, 6:30–7:45pm
A creative start to the week
[Sept 8 – Dec 22 | 15 Classes]

‍

Ideal for: Anyone who wants to break out of old patterns, explore new ways of moving, and start the week feeling sharper and more confident. Perfect for those recovering from injury or burnout, or simply looking for something different.

The Lab is Denise’s creative movement space - a Monday class designed to reset your week through exploration, equipment, and unique challenges.

"I just really want a class that doesn't have so much structure, where we can take a more experimental approach and just see what we can do." -Denise

Think of it as a test kitchen for your body: new inputs, new tools, new discoveries. The Lab helps you retrain your body in ways that break old habits and build fresh confidence.

Every class is different, but the goal is the same: walk out sharper, clearer, and more at home in your body.

📅 Class Time:
Mondays, 6:30–7:45pm
[Sept 8 – Dec 22 | 15 Classes]
with Denise

Level:
All levels

🌙 Integrate | Wednesdays, 6:30–7:45pm
Where your body knits itself back together
[Sept 10 – Dec 17 | 15 Classes]

‍

Ideal for: Anyone carrying tension, recovering from stress or injury, or simply craving a slower practice that activates your self healing system.

Integrate is Rouleau's version of a restorative class - slow, precise and intelligent. Instead of zoning out, you'll explore somatic movements, fascial priming, and targeted release work using yoga tune-up balls

"Integration is not passive - it’s relational. It’s what happens when you return to your body - again and again - until it starts to trust you." -Denise

This isn’t about lying on the floor and hoping something shifts.

This class is designed to re-educate your nervous system, unwind outdated tension patterns, and give your body the inputs it needs to re-establish coherence - in sensation, in structure, in breath.

Think of it as a weekly reminder to return to yourself - leaving you calmer, clearer, and more at home in your own body.

📅 Class Time:
Wednesdays, 6:30–7:45pm
[Sept 10 – Dec 17 | 15 Classes]
with Denise

Levels: All levels

🌀 Spiral | Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00am–10:15am
The structured path to a body that ages in reverse.
[Sept 9 – Dec 18 | 30 Classes]

‍

Ideal for: Dedicated movers, movement teachers, or anyone that wants to experience measurable progress in how their body feels and functions. This is perfect for you if you are recovering from injury, pushing your limits, or simply wanting the certainty of results you can feel week by week.

Spiral is Rouleau’s most structured class - it’s like climbing a beautiful staircase, one step at a time. Each session layers onto the last, not just correcting posture or strength, but gradually stripping away the noise and distortion that’s crept in over the years. What emerges isn’t a “new you,” but a clearer, stronger version of who you’ve been all along.

"This is my longest running class and the community is really strong. It's like a cocktail party before and after class - they just love sharing their wins with each other! It's such a warm environment for real healing." -Denise

Spiral isn’t about chasing quick highs or hardcore routines. You will notice the difference not only in class, but in everyday life: feeling lighter on your feet, carrying groceries without strain, or simply moving without hesitation for the first time in years.

If The Lab is exploration and Integrate is restoration, Spiral is rebirth. You step into the Spiral, you shed what no longer serves you, and you return renewed. And when life tests you again, you re-enter - each time climbing higher, each time more yourself.‍

📅 Class Time:
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00–10:15am
[Sept 9 – Dec 18 | 30 Classes]
with Denise

⚡ Express | Monday & Thursday, 12:00pm–12:45pm
Quick Reset. Lasting results.
[Sept 9 – Oct 9 - 10 Classes]

‍

Ideal for: Busy professionals, newcomers to Rouleau, or locals in the Windermere area that want to take a purposeful pause, so they can get back to work sharper and stronger.

Express is a 45-minute lunchtime class designed to fit right into your schedule - no fluff, no wasted time. In under an hour, you’ll release tension, activate key muscles, and reset your posture, all while sharpening your breath and focus.

"I teach a lot of children's classes, and I know how much a mid-day movement break helps me re-centre so I can finish the afternoon strong. Come join me, I know just what you need!" -Nallely

This isn’t just a mid-day stretch. Express teaches your body strategies it can carry into the rest of your day - so you return to work switched on, clear, and ready. Over time, these small resets add up, building a stronger, more resilient body that supports you for the long run.

đŸ§± Foundations | Thursday, 6:30pm–7:45pm
Your best first steps on the path to sovereignty.
[Sept 18 – Nov 6 - 10 Classes]

‍

Ideal for: New students, returning movers, yoga/Pilates grads, or anyone who wants to understand how their body really works and build strength that lasts. If 🌀 Spiral feels intimidating or đŸ§Ș Lab feels too advanced - đŸ§± Foundations is where you can begin Rouleau with clarity and confidence.

Foundations introduces you to the key principles of Rouleau. In this class, you’ll learn how to move with your body, not against it - giving you a grounded new starting point that will have an immediate impact on your daily activities.

"I feel like the poster child for this work. Rouleau gave me my life back and now I have to share it with others." -Barbara

This isn’t being dropped off at the kiddie pool. You are taking the most important steps you can for your health:

  • Rebuilding strength in a way that sustains you.
  • Learning how to move freely, with less hesitation or fear.
  • Reclaiming lost confidence and the joy that comes with a self healing body.
  • ‍

Rouleau Students often describe it as a reintroduction to themselves - the moment where things begin to click, and where movement stops feeling like a fight and starts feeling like freedom.

    📅 Class Time:
    Thursdays, 6:30–7:45pm
    [Sept 18 – Nov 6 | 10 Classes]
    with Barbara

    ‍
    Level:
    Beginner-friendly, growth-oriented

    ⚖ Strength & Restore | Saturdays, 9:30am–10:45am
    Build resilence. Find renewal.
    [Sept 6 – Oct 25 - 8 Classes]

    ‍

Ideal for: Movers who want the best of both worlds - the confidence of building strength and the calm of deep recovery - leaving you recentred for the week ahead. Perfect for anyone who wants to feel challenged but also cared for.

Strength & Restore blends two essential elements of Rouleau: intelligent strength training that awakens dormant systems, and restorative practices that recharge the nervous system. You’ll challenge your body to grow stronger in the first part of the practice, then you’ll ease into integrative stillness with a grounding sound bath.

Restoration is supported with poses, therapy ball release, and optional essential oils to complete the experience.

"It can be hard to devote time to both the challenge and restoration our bodies need. This is a great way to make sure you're covering all your bases." -Janelle

The result is a class that feels both energizing and grounding - a dual practice that strengthens your system while also giving it space to heal.

    📅 Class Time:
    Saturdays, 9:30–10:45am
    [Sept 6 – Oct 25 | 8 Classes]
    with Janelle

    Level: All levels

Please note: sound baths are not recommended for anyone with epilepsy, a pacemaker, or during pregnancy. Hearing aids can simply be removed.

đŸ€” "Wait—why do my hips hurt after yoga?"

You’re not broken. But if you’ve felt:
    1
That your hips are always tight — no matter how much you stretch
    2
Knee or hip pain that comes and goes
    3
Like things that used to feel easy — getting up, stepping down, turning quickly — now take more effort
    4
Frustrated that your current routine isn’t helping — or might be making it worse
    5
Worried that hip or knee surgery is just a matter of time
It’s not just you. And it’s not just aging.

It’s your body asking for a better approach.

💡 What if your hips got better with age?

What if instead of bracing for decline, you built hips that feel:

    • Strong enough to carry what matters — groceries, toddlers, or your own weight up the stairs
    • Mobile and stable — so you can squat, twist, and move without second-guessing yourself
    • Ready for hikes, dancing, stairs, or just standing at the stove without shifting from foot to foot
    • Like a source of power, not pain

    In this workshop, you'll:

    • Learn what your hips (and knees and feet) actually need to stay strong for life
    • Understand why your yoga class might be making things worse — and how to modify without anyone else knowing
    • Practice movement patterns that protect your joints and help them get stronger over time
    • Get tools you can use right away, feel the results immediately and use for the rest of your life

You won’t just learn about your hips. You’ll feel what it’s like to move from strength.

    🔍 Here’s how it works

Hips Don’t Lie is a 3-hour immersive workshop to help you understand, protect, and upgrade your lower body.

📝 What happens when you register:

    1. You’ll get an email with all the details - plus login info so you'll be able to access the recordings and class notes.
    2. You’ll show up ready to learn — and realize this feels better than anything you’ve tried before.
    3. You’ll understand more about your hips in one session than you have in years.
    4. You’ll start moving with more confidence and less fear — in yoga, walking, and life.
    5. You’ll have access to the replay and notes for life — so you can revisit it as often as you need.

Each participant will also have the option to purchase a small equipment kit for $15 (circle band, theraband, Tune-Up ball).

    "But it's just yoga, right?"

    Not even close.

Yoga, Pilates, and other mind-body practices can bring awareness.
Athletics and fitness can build force and endurance.
Wellness treatments can melt away tension.

But none of them completes the circuit that your body needs to actually heal itself.

    Rouleau bridges the gap.
    ‍
Our classes don't push you to exhaustion or ask you to float away.
They are challenging in the way that growth is challenging.
Rouleau restores the missing connection between strength and sensation - the relationship between you and your nervous system.

This is where your self-healing system wakes back up.
    It’s strength without strain.
    Freedom without force.
    Energy without depletion.

    Not “just yoga.”
    Not “just exercise.”
It’s movement re-education - the missing piece that reactivates your human sovereignty.

    And it works.

Hear what our students are saying...

“Physically, I feel amazing. I used to go on a beach walk for about an hour, and just at the end of it, my hips were just screaming at me. It was like a couple of years of that. I'm starting to forget I ever had an issue there. I even did a three-hour hike a month ago or something—and I didn't even think about it. I had no pain. I just didn’t even realize it."
    Cecily, Australia
“My student was supposed to get her hip replaced. But after a year, her doctor told her, ‘Your hips look great. You don’t need a replacement right now. We don’t need to do surgery.’ And she said, ‘It’s the Rouleau classes.’ She comes three times a week. She’s so dedicated."
    Wendy, Germany
“I was in an accident and suffered a pretty significant brain concussion. I was on a walker for 3 months. Couldn’t drive for 9. I made more progress in 6 months with Rouleau than I made in a year of neuro rehab. I’m doing things that I really was terrified to do. I’m probably close to where I was before my injury. But that’s not good enough anymore. I want to keep pushing myself and challenging myself.”
    Melanie, USA
“I talk about being the poster child for this work because two years ago, I could hardly walk up the stairs. I had so much inflammation, so much discomfort. My doctor said my knees were bone on bone and I needed surgery. But I’ve been doing this work every single day since then. My knees are doing great. I go days—weeks, even—without even thinking that I ever had any pain in them. It’s remarkable.”
    Barbara, Canada
“At 42, I’ve never felt more capable. I’m doing things I used to be terrified of. My kids think their mommy is strong and they are super impressed by that - I enjoy showing them little things they can use in their everyday life. Even emptying the dishwasher — I’m intentionally trying to use those parts of my body. I know now it helps prevent injury, but it also makes you stronger.”
    Danielle, USA
“Going to get groceries, I used to have to hold on to the cart. I used to just focus on the pain-and the lack of mobility. But now when I come here, I feel joy. This lifts me up every week. It’s making me feel better about me.”
    Kim, CANADA

    Who wrote this page anyways?

Hi there - I’m Denise, creator of Rouleau.

I’ve spent my life studying movement in every form, from fitness and massage therapy to somatics and beyond.
    ‍
Along the way, I discovered something missing: a way of moving that doesn’t just train your body, but teaches it how to heal.

That’s why I created Rouleau - to give you a path back to strength, stability, and the quiet confidence of feeling at home in your body again.

At its core, Rouleau is built on one truth: your body is designed to heal and adapt. My work, and the work of every Rouleau Guide, is simply to help you remember how.
